Postil Has Arrived: Sermons Beside Every Verse

Today is a big day. Postil is officially live — free to download on the App Store — and we could not be more excited to put it in your hands.

We built Postil because we kept running into the same problem: great Christian teaching is scattered across a hundred different apps, feeds, and inboxes, completely disconnected from the Scripture that inspired it. A sermon here, a podcast there — and the Bible itself living in a totally separate app you never quite got around to opening. Postil fixes that with living postils: margin notes on Scripture, in the oldest sense of the word, brought into the digital age.

A real Bible, with living postils

This is the part we're proudest of. Postil isn't a content aggregator with a Bible tab awkwardly stapled on — the Bible is a first-class citizen. Multiple translations. A clean, distraction-free reader with adjustable text size and both verse and paragraph display modes. Full-text search across the whole Bible in seconds.

And here's the piece that makes Postil genuinely different: every verse is linked to real teaching. Tap a verse and see cross-references, relevant entries from Easton's Bible Dictionary, and — when it exists — actual articles, sermons, and podcast episodes from ministries you trust that speak directly to that passage. Scripture and commentary, connected the way they were always meant to be.

One feed, every voice you trust

Postil's home feed pulls together articles, podcasts, videos, and news from a growing lineup of respected ministries, authors, and creators — all in one clean, scrollable, ad-light feed, tagged to the verses they discuss. No algorithm chasing outrage, no infinite doom-scroll. Just a Hot, New, and Top view of the content that actually matters, ranked by real engagement and freshness, not manipulation.

  • Curated, not crowdsourced. Every source in Postil is added deliberately — ministries, authors, and creators we trust, not an open free-for-all.
  • Every format in one place. Articles, full-length podcasts, YouTube teaching, and real news reporting, sitting side by side instead of siloed in four different apps.
  • Explore by topic. Browse by category — apologetics, theology, discipleship, current events, and more — or follow your favorite creators directly.

Built for real community, not just content

Postil isn't a one-way broadcast. Every piece of content has a real comment thread, and every comment can be "upcrossed" — Postil's version of an amen, a nod of agreement from one believer to another. Save anything for later. Follow the creators and ministries you trust most so their new content always finds you first.

We also built Postil Partners — a way for the ministries, authors, and creators whose work you love to have a real voice inside the app: a managed profile, priority placement, and a direct line to the community reading their work.

Thoughtful, not distracting

Dark mode, because late-night reading shouldn't hurt your eyes. Pick-your-own avatar, because your profile should feel like you. Smart notifications for replies and new content from people you follow — nothing more. And Postil Pro removes ads from your feed and Bible content entirely, for anyone who wants the cleanest possible reading experience.

This is just the beginning

Postil launches today, but it's a living app — new creators, new features, and new ways to connect Scripture with the teaching shaping your walk with Christ are coming constantly. If you've been looking for one place to read the Word and hear from voices you trust, without the noise, Postil is that place.

Download it free today on the App Store, and let us know what you think. We built this for you.
